A Message from the New President
As a student, my life was transformed through Grove City College and I experienced the joy of working hard to pursue excellence in a Christian community. I am honored to return and ensure that future generations of Grove City College students will receive the Christian, conservative, academically excellent, affordable education that profoundly shaped me.
There’s never been a more important time for a school like Grove City College. Our singular combination of institutional freedom and academic excellence that takes place in a Christian community makes us a beacon of light and a bastion of hope for our country’s future.
The Future of GCC
Like you, I love this College. And like you, I’m thinking about its future. What’s my vision? In short: to build people.
We’ve built some remarkable buildings—iconic spaces that serve our students well. But bricks and mortar are only a means to an end. Our true calling is to mold the minds, shape the hearts, and nourish the souls of young men and women who will lead and serve with faith, courage, and integrity.
We want Grove City College to be the premier destination for the most talented Christian students and scholars in the nation—students and scholars who will shape the future of our churches, communities, and country. How will we do that? By staying faithful to our mission:
- Christ-centered: We want to be the best four-year discipleship program on the planet—where faith deepens and lives are transformed.
- Conservative: A joint and indivisible commitment to faith and freedom is at the core of our identity. Christian first, conservative second—but always both.
- Academically Excellent: We take academics seriously. We hold ourselves and our students to high standards.
- Affordable: We remain independent from federal funding and are committed to stewarding our resources wisely.
In January 2026, we’ll celebrate our 150th anniversary with a year-long celebration—an opportunity to honor our past and shape our future. Yvonne and I can’t wait to meet many of you during this milestone year.
As Grove City enters a new chapter of leadership, support from our students, faculty and alumni is crucial. Join us in encouraging President Lingo and his family as they join us on campus and remain prayerful and hopeful for the continued flourishing of our great school.
About Brad Lingo
After earning his J.D., with honors, from Harvard Law School, Lingo served as a law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He was a litigation partner at King & Spalding LLP and practiced law with the global law firm Gibson Dunn before joining the faculty of Regent University School of Law, where he later became dean. He has led Regent Law to set records for enrollment, median incoming GPA and LSAT scores, U.S. News rankings, and employment outcomes.

For Steve DeCaspers ’97, Grove City College provided “a well-rounded liberal arts education with Christianity at the foundation.” In this video, he shares how that experience continues to inspire him to support the College’s mission of preparing students to live with purpose and impact the world.
Digital Mises Archive will reach more students and Austrian Economics scholars
Since 1978, Grove City College has been home to the Ludwig von Mises Archive, a collection containing more than 20,000 pages of unpublished works spanning Mises’ life in Europe during the rise of the Nazi party through his emigration to the United States until his death in 1973. These papers—letters, manuscripts, notes, and monographs—have shaped generations of scholarship on economics and political thought.
Thanks to a recently completed digitization project, the Mises Archive is now fully accessible online at gcc.historyit.com, opening the door for students and scholars around the world to explore Mises’ original writings anytime, anywhere. No longer limited to those who could visit the College in person, researchers can now dive into the collection to uncover new insights into Mises’s approach to economics, the role of human choice, and the foundations of prosperity.

The availability of the archive online marks an exciting moment for students of the Austrian School. Dr. Jeffrey M. Herbener, chair of the Department of Economics, notes, “By giving access to interested scholars around the world, the Mises digital archive will stimulate new lines of research on the Misesian approach to economics.”
This commitment to advancing Austrian scholarship is also reflected in the College’s new Master of Arts in Economics, which builds directly on the Austrian foundation established by Mises, Hayek, Rothbard, and others. Designed to prepare students for Ph.D. programs and impactful careers in market analysis, organizational and institutional design, and public policy, the program emphasizes a deep understanding of human nature and the ways societies flourish—or falter—based on how individuals associate with one another.
As Dr. Caleb S. Fuller ’13, associate professor of Economics, explains, Mises’ questions remain as relevant today as ever: “What is a human being? Why is it that some societies are so fabulously wealthy while others languish in squalor?” By engaging both the digitized archive and the College’s distinctive graduate program, a new generation of students and scholars is being equipped to wrestle with these questions and carry forward the Austrian School tradition.
